Welcome to
Wickham Hall! |
Welcome to
our website. Wickham and Medhurst Halls are community
halls managed by a board of Trustees who generously give
their time in order to keep them maintained to the high
standard so much appreciated by the many people who use
them. It is very rewarding to receive so many compliments
about the halls and many of our bookings are due to
recommendations from previous users. Wickham Hall has been the home of West Wickham's annual pantomime since 1945 when West Wickham Pantomime Society staged its first performance Babes in the Wood. Theatre productions have been in the Hall's 'blood stream' for many years and a welcome 'transfusion' occurred in 1965 when the stage lighting from Londons Windmill Theatre was transferred to Wickham Hall with the installation being paid for by an anonymous donor. Since that time the stage lighting has been updated and offers excellent stage lighting facilities. West Wickham Residents' Association has been associated with the Hall since 1929. As well as holding their monthly meetings and Annual General Meeting at the Hall, the Association has Social events throughout the year. WWRA is pleased to welcome new Committee members and always needs new Road Stewards to deliver the quarterly magazine to its members. Medhurst Hall was the original Wickham Hall and was superseded by the current hall which was built in 1904. Medhurst Hall has been totally renovated and is very popular with hirers being used for childrens activities, clubs, classes and meetings. |
